Travel into Copenhagen

Our first trip of the year. We had booked this trip at the very last moment as we saw a good deal come up.
It was the evening of the Friday that we had booked our flights. we both worked from home that day. Finished work at about 3:30 pm and somehow managed to get everything packed during that time as well.
Nimi was getting restless and somehow for whatever reasons was getting scared of flights. We managed to convince her that it will all be OK.
We got our luggage into the car and left home dot at 4 pm. Although the flight was for 8 pm, there had been a few flood warning around Gatwick and there were messages in the radio to plan extra time for the journey. There were even delays with the Gatwick Express. So not wanting to leave anything to chance we left early with plenty of time in hand.
It is almost a certainity that there would be traffic on the M25 on a Friday afternoon, and it did not disappoint. There was very slow moving traffic and we barely covered 2 miles in 30 mins :). We managed to reach Gatwick at about 5:45PM but that was not the end to the fun of travelling to Gatwick. The road to the car park was flooded. We got warned by a van driver that the car might get stuck in the puddles of water on the roads. We went ahead to check it anyway, but there it was, it was like a little lake and in the dark, I could not even see how big was the 'lake' in front of us. We decided to stay back and let the car behind us pass. And it did. It gave us enough confidence to drive into the puddle. Dropped our car off at the car park and took the shuttle to the airport.
The flight was on time and we reached Copenhagen in 90 mins. The Kastrup Airport was very nice. We had booked at the Hilton and it was right next to the airport, in fact it was connected to the airport by a passage way!!!
The hotel had a 5 Star rating and it certainly lived up to its reputation. We got a Deluxe room 1027 on the 10th Floor. We were so flattered by the look and feel of the hotel that we decided that if we ever came back to Copenhagen then we will always stay here. The WiFi code for the rooms was CPHAPHH01

We took our time in getting out of bed. Our hotel booking had breakfast included, we had a massive breakfast. I was so full, I regretted eating so much after a while. We then came back and decided to go to the National Aquarium which was very close to our hotel. When we asked the concierge desk, they suggested that we walk to the aquarium. But as soon as we stepped out of the hotel we got a feel of how gusty the wind was. Nimi was running all over the place as she could not decide where to go. We all came inside and then ordered a taxi.
The Aquarium was very nice, it had a very big collection of fishes from all over the world. Nimi was afraid at times of the big fishes, but she had fun most of the times as well. The tickets to the Aquarium were 160 Krones each. We had our lunch over there as well. It soon dawned on us that we would have to walk our way back to the hotel as we did not arrange for a taxi back. We walked our way in the strong wind with little bits of snow pelting away on the exposed bit of the face. We tried to cover ourselves as much as we could but it did not matter. It was only when we made the turn and wind was on our backs that relief came. But it was a fun experience.
We then sat at the hotel bar, Nimi finished her food that she did not eat at the aquarium, and then dozed off. We sat and had a few pints of beer, before we realised that we were hungry. I ordered a burger and Deepika ordered fish and chips for dinner. We had our dinner and then came up to our rooms. The Wi-Fi inside the rooms was really fast. We watched 'Saare Janah Se Mehnga' on our laptop, through our subscription on BWCinemas.com. After finishing the movie we went to sleep.

We woke up bit late today as we slept late the night before. We all managed to get ready and leave the room by 10 am as breakfast was served by 11 am. We had couple of egg dishes in the breakfast today from scrumble eggs to bolied eggs to omlette to sunny side. All of us enjoyed eggs in the breakfast with a cup of hot tea.
There was a small play area for kids to play in the hotel so after finishing our breakfast we went there and Nimi has lots of fun there.
