Barbados - Bridgetown - Day 2
We were all up and awake early today by 6am. We waited for the sun to come up and it was a lovely sunny day. We did not want to have the breakfast in our hotel, so we went for a stroll to explore areas around the hotel for food.
There was a petrol station just outside the hotel and we got some fruits and chicken patties from there. We also got some mango juice. After having our breakfast we decided to walk on the beach. The sand was white and the water was warm. While walking on the sandy beach, we watched some horses taking their shower. It was an amazing sight.
We walked on the beach for a while. The girls wanted to get into the water. so we got changed and came back. We sat on the beach and the girls went into the Caribbean sea. We spent about an hour there and then we decided to go to Bridgetown for sight seeing.
We took a local cab from the main road. We reached there in 10 mins, and to be honest the city center was very lackadaisical and uninspiring. There was hardly anything to see. We went to KFC and picked up lunch. There was no seating inside due to covid so we had to sit in a park outside. We had our food and then walked through the markets. Bought some mangoes, pineapple and some bair nuts.
After having some iced smoothies, we headed back to the hotel. We got changed and went back to the beach. The water was warm and very inviting. We swam in the ocean for about an hour. We then came back up to the hotel, had our shower and then went outside to have lunch. To our surprise there was only one shop open. It was a Chinese shop. We orders a chicken chowmein and a chicken fried rice. Both the dishes were really tasty.
The kids enjoyed the chowmein more. I got some juice and some paracetamol from the petrol pump before heading back to our room.
