Abu Dhabi - London - Day 8

Got up a tad early today as I was getting a bit accustomed to the time zone. We had toasted bread, boiled eggs and some matar mix for breakfast. It was really good. Then we decided to go the swimming pool downstairs. The pool was heated and the water was really tempting.
Sudha had taken the kids out of school today as it was the last day that they could spend time with their cousins. The kids had a lot of fun in the swimming pool. They had sun loungers which we laid back on and chatted while the kids swam and played in the pool. Siobhan stayed upstairs and it was amazing how she was unfazed by everyone leaving and she was very content with her things.

After swimming for an hour or so we came back. The plan was to go out for lunch. We suggested that we go back to Gazebo, where we had the biryani last time. It was very good and we wanted to have another meal there before we left.

So we all got ready and left for the mall. We sat at the same table as last time and ordered the mutton biryani, chicken biryani and also a chicken curry for the kids. We cherished the meal. after that the girls went on a shopping excursion while me and Sukant went to the food court and sat down gossiping about random stuff.
When they were eventually done, we had some ginger and saffron tea and then left the mall. Niki and Nimi wanted to buy some souvenirs for their friends, so Sudha took them to a store called Day2Day and they got fridge magnets and perfumes for their friends.

By the time we finished, it was almost 5PM and we did not have much time , so we ruched back home as we had to do the packing. It took us about half an hour to pack and we were all set to leave. We said our good byes to the kids Reyansh and Siobhan, both were lovely kids and it was a pleasure meeting them. Sudha and Sukant drove out with us to the petrol pump as we had to fill up the car before returning the car back at the airport.

We went to the ADNOC station near their place. After filling the car up we waved our final goodbyes to both of them and drove off to Abu Dhabi airport.

It took us about 40 mins to reach the airport. We dropped off the car at the Europcar hut and then proceeded for security checks. It did not take us long as we were able to go through the eGates, which saved us a lot of time.

We just hoped that the flights were on time and there were no cancellations. The flight was slightly delayed but we eventually were on our way to Budapest.

Slept most of the flight. On reaching Budapest at 2am we realised that everything opened at 3am. Deepika was not feeling well so she lied down and took some rest. Once the security checks opened we got it done as were at the boarding gate in 10 mins. I got some food and coffee. We had a few nibbles and then Deepika slept on the long seats.

Our flight was at 6am, so we rested up until is was time to board. The flight was on time and we all just slept as soon as we sat down on our seats. Got up when the flight landed in Luton. It was -2 degrees outside. We went through the eGates again and we were out. I booked an Uber, we had to walk to the MidStay car park and the car picked us up and dropped us back home.

The entire trip was very pleasant. It was much more than we all had expected. Everyone had a contented feeling after the trip. It would take some time to get back to the daily routine but we will get there.
