Greece - Kefalonia - Aenos - Day 6
We all woke up earlier than usual. Niki was the first to wake up and jump into our bed upstairs. We got fresh and went downstairs for breakfast. We did not eat much today, just enough to fill us up and then we were ready to go out site seeing.
We decided to go for wine tasting at a winery today. The popular winery was closed so we went to Robola Winery instead. It was about 30 mins drive from our hotel. The winery was located in an amazing valley. It was so good to be there. The place was very well done up and we were excited to be there. But soon it was fizzed out as the brewery tour was cancelled due to covid and they only did like a sampling of the wines.
To our surprise the wines inside the shop were much more expensive than the ones we were able to get from the supermarkets. We sat there and contemplated the idea of starting our own wine business. To target India as the consumer market.
We sat there for about half an hour before the kids got restless and we decided to make a move to our next location - Mount Aneos National Park.
It was another 30mins drive from the winery, but this time it was a constant uphill climb. It was a quick drive up, there were hardly any people up there. We parked our car and set on foot for a mountain trek.
The views were breathtaking. We clicked load of snaps.
It was so special to walk among the clouds. After walking for about an hour we started our decent. We stopped at a picnic spot to have our lunch. We had packed sandwiches for lunch. we enjoyed our lunch.
The kids enjoyed chasing the mountain goats.
We then headed back to our hotel. It was about a 45min drive back. I hardly put the car in gear. It just kept rolling down the slopes. On our way back, we stopped at Aldi to buy some chicken and vegetables for cooking dinner.
On reaching our hotel, we decided to head back to the Ai Helis Beach. It was sunny and the weather was very warm.
We changed and walked to the beach. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and the sandy beach was the perfect entertainment that the girls needed. The girls played in the sand for over an hour. We walked along the sandy beach.
We bought and sold some stocks as ii were offering free trading on US stocks. We then walked back the hotel and the girls wanted to have a swim in the pool. We sat by the pool with our coffee and the girls swam in the pool.
In the evening we all took a shower and then we cooked chicken curry and rice. It took us about half an hour to cook. We had our cocktail of wine and enjoyed our dinner. After dinner we sat down to watch Friends on Netflix.
I had to finish up on some work and then we went to sleep.
