Portugal - Lisbon - Cascais - Day5

It was another sunny day. We woke up early and then got ready for breakfast. We had the usual bakery stuff and fried eggs for breakfast. We were not keen on the breakfast anymore. After breakfast we went for a short walk to the local store and got water and some sunscreen.

After coming back we decided to drive to Cascais. It was to the south of Lisbon, a costal town with lovely scenic places. The drive was about 40 mins. We took the toll roads so we got there nice and easy.

The first place we visited there was called Boca do Inferno. It is said that the waves from the Atlantic batter the coast line so hard that it sounds like the firing of cannons. The whole landscape was formed naturally by the ocean battering the rocks.

The cliffs at Boca Do Inferno

Finding a parking space was very easy. We took 1 hour of prepaid parking and that was enough. However there was plenty of free parking just one turn away.

The place was truly very picturesque. We clicked a lot of snaps there. It was getting hot, so we could not walk much along the promenade. The girls had ice cream and then we headed off the the Cascais beach.

The drive from Boca do Inferno to the city center which was also where the beach was, was very nice. We drove past some very good houses and we also saw some newly developed apartments. We parked our car in the train station car park and walked to the beach.

Deepika had already got the swimming costumes, flip flops, towels and sun screen lotion with her. The girls quickly changed and we found a spot in the beach and sat down. Nimi and Niki played in the water and built their sand castles. We sat on the beach and had a pint of cool beer.

We watched a lot of people doing water activities. We will do them soon, may be at Faro. After the girls had spent about 2 hours playing in the sand, we decided to make a move and grab something to eat. As we walked out we spotted McDonalds. We got sandwiches for everyone and all of had a very sumptuous meal. Nimi had 2 burgers!

A walk around the market in Cascais

After the lunch, we just walked a bit in the city center. The place had a very nice buzz about it and was the first lively place we had seen in this trip. Niki was getting very tired so we decided to head back to the hotel.

On reaching our hotel, we all had a quick shower and then all of us took a small nap. We ordered food from Bollywood Lounge. Tadka Daal, Roti and rice. The Uber Eats delivery took about 15 mins and we all had ate our dinner in our room.

Niki went to sleep straightaway. Nimi read her book and dozed off. We watched Netflix before hitting the bed.

2 bed apartments in Cascais were about €300K. The place was perfect for a holiday home. Very clean, small town.
