Day 11 - New York - Downtown

We got up a bit late today. We had juice and fruits for breakfast. The days were really hot and we decided to start a bit late so that the kids don't get exhausted early.

We took bus 163 and enjoyed the bus ride to Port Authority. We checked the balance on our metro cards and then took the train to Central Park.
We walked about in the park. It was massive. The prices for hiring a rickshaw around the park was north of $200 per head. It was ridiculous!

We just roamed in the park and it was nice to see people running and staying active.

We walked into the city and as we were looking for a restroom we saw an Indian restaurant called Deep Indian Kitchen. We sat down there for a quick drink, but ended up eating lunch there. The food was very tasty 😋.

After the much needed rest we decided to take the train to Grand Central Station.

We took the train to Times Square and then took the S line to Grand Central Station.

I assume the S line stands for shuttle line as it had just one stop.

We reached Grand Central Station without knowing what to expect. But we were just blown away by the grandeur of the place.

The place was majestic. We walked all round the station.
We even walked down to the train platforms.

We took picture from the iconic platform giving the panoramic view of the station.

After visiting Grand Central we walked towards Times Square. On the way we spotted the NY public library.

We went in there to have a quick look. It was massive and was hosting some exhibition.

We found some chairs in front of the library and decided to sit there and take some rest from the exhausting heat.

Niki ran around taking pictures 😘.

We then walked back to Times Square and took some more pictures and enjoyed the view once more.

It was our last evening in the Big Apple and we wanted to soak in the environment and ambience.
We took the 163 bus back to our hotel.

We were pretty full so we just had pot noodles for dinner.
